Virginia "Nina" Muschella

Virginia “Nina” Muschella, age 100, of Wickliffe, passed away December 4, 2020.

(In My Own Words) I was born on November 9, 1920 in Indiana, PA.

I graduated from Indiana High School in 1938 and later on from the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. Then, my family and I moved to Wickliffe, OH in 1943.

I was employed by Babies and Children’s Hospital and Hanna House University Hospital. I later served as a nurse in the United States Army Air Corp from 1945 to 1946 in the Air Transport Unit. Once I returned, I was employed at Huron Road Hospital for four years and at Thompson Products, Inc. for four more years as nurse also.

I attended the Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Western Reserve University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1957. Then in 1961, I was employed as the Wickliffe Elementary School Nurse until my retirement in 1985.

I am survived by my great nephew, Joseph Muschella III (Spouse, David Bateman), great niece, Jill (Roger) Hilborn, great-great nephew, Will Hilborn and Jean Muschella (wife of Joe Muschella, Jr.).

Preceding me in death are my parents, Sam and Nina (nee Muscara) Muschella, brothers, Paul and Joe Muschella and nephew, Joseph Muschella, Jr.

Private graveside services to be held. A Memorial Mass will be held in Nina’s honor at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nina’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
