Russell W. Toll, Jr., age 91, passed away peacefully November 24, 2020 at the Western Reserve Masonic Retirement Community in Medina, OH. Russ was born September 3, 1929 in Cleveland and was a long-time Wickliffe resident. He graduated from East Tech High School in 1947.
Russ is survived by his loving daughter Adrienne Greben (Gary Jr.) of Concord; sister Marilyn Wallace (husband Ray, deceased); special niece Donna Hanson and her husband Carl and their family; special nephew Brian Griffith and his wife Bonnie and their daughter Carly. "Uncle Russ" to many others.
Russ was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Wanda (nee: Griffith); parents Bessie J. (nee: Lemr) and Russell W. Toll, Sr. and sister Patricia Adams (husband Bob deceased).
He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict in Sasong, Korea in the Infantry-Signal Corps.
"Duke" was a Journeyman Glazier and member of Local #181. Former Glazing Superintendent with PPG. Founder and former owner of Allied Glass Services.
Russ was very active in the Masonic fraternity in Ohio. 70-year member, PWM of Babcock Lodge #600, first Master of Cleveland Lodge #781 and plural member of Acacia Lodge #651. 32° member of the AASR. In Royal Arch Masonry, PHP of Mt. Olive Chapter #189, Past Grand Marshal and Distinguished Service Award recipient. DeMolay PMC of Coeur de Lion chapter, Chevalier and Legion of Honor award recipient.
Russ was a life-long Browns fan, former poll worker and member of Wickliffe Senior Center. He was in his element as a member of the Readers' Theatre performing group at WRMC as well as working on many projects for the Ohio Masonic Home Resource Center.
He enjoyed golf with Wanda (who taught him how to play!), especially as members of the Dizzy Dozen Duffers. Together they had fun traveling, most notably their cruises, golf and casino trips.
But most of all, Russ liked to make people laugh.
Visitation Monday, November 30 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Orlando-Donsante-Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. (Masks Required with Social Distancing and Occupancy Limits). Private burial service to be held at Acacia Memorial Park in Mayfield Hts.
