Mary A. Aquilia (nee Gentile), age 93, of Wickliffe, passed away December 19, 2021. She was born on December 26, 1927 in Cleveland, OH to the late Frank and Mary (nee Musarra) Gentile.
Mary was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Wickliffe. She had previously worked at Hough Bakery as a manager, Davis Bakery, and McDonald’s. Mary enjoyed playing bingo and watching the Golden Girls, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mary’s cavatelli and meatballs were always the favorite dish at every family gathering.
Mary was the dearest mother of Angela (Carl) Marks, Larry Aquilia and Michael Aquilia; former mother-in-law of Renee Aquilia and George Onesko; devoted grandmother of Mario (Lisa) Onesko, Christina (Steve) Deibel, Trena (Augie) Pacetti, Bree (Matthew) Nill, Justin (Jennifer) Aquilia, Blair Aquilia and great grandmother of Allie, Michael, Jenna, Dominic, Matthew, Natalie, David, Francis, James, Maria, Malin, Ezra, Elijah and Leo; dear sister of Jerry (Eileen) Gentile; dear sister-in-law of Gloria Gentile; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore; loving son, Theodore, Jr.; kind sister, Catherine Strichko; and caring brothers, Pete Gentile, Tony (Carol, deceased) Gentile, and Lou Gentile.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Mary at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Inurnment will be in Wickliffe Cemetery at a later date.
