Margaret "Peggy" R. (McNulty) Shero

Margaret R. Shero (nee McNulty), age 90, of Wickliffe, passed away peacefully June 10, 2023, surrounded by her family.

She was born Peggy McNulty on April 5, 1933, in Carrolltown, PA to the late Samuel and Amber (nee Frye) McNulty. She was a devoted older sister to four siblings. She married the love of her life, Joe Shero, on July 11, 1953. They were happily married for 41 years before his passing in 1995. They spent as many weekends as possible back in Pennsylvania visiting family and friends and cherished their trip to Europe to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

Peggy worked for many years in banking while also being a loving and caring mother to seven children who was very supportive of all their academic and athletic pursuits. She helped to care for her brother Dick for many years and also cared for her mother in her mother’s later years.

Peggy was a member of the Mount Carmel Drive Poker Club for over 60 years. Through this club she enjoyed a much-needed break from her kids while also making life-long friendships. She also enjoyed her activities with the Pennsylvania Club.

Peggy was a woman of great faith who was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (OLMC) Parish in Wickliffe for over 60 years. Catholic education was important to her as all seven of her children attended OLMC and local Catholic high schools. She delivered communion to the sick and homebound for many years and was also a former President of the Legion of Mary at OLMC.

Her later years were spent being a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She taught these children various fun card games including 9-Hole and Kings in the Corner.

She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Peggy was the beloved wife of the late Joseph, Sr.; dearest mother of Karen (Terry) Rotter, Joseph, Jr. (deceased) (Mary Beth), Samuel (deceased) (Amy), Peggy (Mark) Smith, Ruth (Rusty) Holler, Laura (Bill) Henry and William (Maggie); devoted grandmother of 20 and great grandmother of 12; dear sister of Samuel (deceased) (Pauline) McNulty, Thomas (Judy) McNulty (both deceased), Richard McNulty (deceased) and Joy (Dennis) Patterson; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial to follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.

The family will receive friends at THE ORLANDO-DONSANTE-PREVITE FUNERAL HOME 29550 EUCLID AVE., WICKLIFFE, ON TUESDAY, JUNE 13TH FROM 5:00 TO 8:00 PM.
