Funeral Services for James J. Kosmerl, age 76, of Madison and a former longtime resident of Euclid, will be 7:30 p.m. Monday May 14th at The Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Mr. Kosmerl passed away Wednesday May 9, 2018 at Altercare of Mentor and was born on January 20, 1942 in Cleveland, OH.
James was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of The American Legion Brewer-Tarasco Post 7 in Wickliffe. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Cleveland. Mr. Kosmerl was employed by General Electric in his early career and worked for Ohio Bell many years where he eventually retired from. James enjoyed gardening and working on cars, he was a great handyman and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians very much.
He is survived by his daughters Karen (Tony) Lauria of Mentor, Ruth (John) Barnes and Judy Simera both of Garretsville and Nancy (Thomas) Butcher of Rootstown; Sons Ross (Krista) Simera of New York and Graig (Stacy) Simera of Rootstown; Devoted grandfather of Abby, Leah and Anna Siatkowski; Dear brother of Dolores (Bob) Perusek; Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia (nee Jones); Son James and his parents Joseph and Mary (nee Planisek).
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James’ memory to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. BOX 758516 Topeka, KS 66675-8516. Private family inurnment at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
