Frank P. Ambrose

Frank Ambrose, age 91, a resident of Wickliffe for 65 years, a man who is loved and will surely be missed. Mr. Ambrose was born on January 12, 1931 to the late Dominick and Grace Ambrose and passed away February 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.

A 1950 East Tech High School graduate, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps right after graduation and served one tour. Frank then married Elizabeth Ryan on November 24, 1955, and together they raised six children. Upon retiring at the age of 83, he volunteered his time to teach PSR and served as a lector at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. At home, he enjoyed his yard and kept it looking beautiful. He watched every sports team especially the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; dearest father of Rose Marie, Kathleen (Martel) Griesmar, Timothy and Owen Ambrose; devoted grandfather of 18 and great grandfather of 16; dear brother of Tony Ambrose and Rose Pavell; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Frankie and daughter, Gigi.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4th at The Orlando-Donsante-Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Frank’s memory to a charity of your choice.
