Eunice L. (Brittan) Yakkel

Eunice L. Yakkel (nee Brittan), age 84, of Wickliffe, passed away October 8, 2023. Mrs. Yakkel was born on December 29, 1938 in Sandy Creek Twp., PA to the late Thomas and Mildred (nee Hunt) Brittan.

Eunice worked as a registered nurse at UH Richmond Hts. Hospital for many years, retiring in 2000. After her retirement, she worked at the Wickliffe Public Library until 2018.

Eunice was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She loved shopping, sewing, baking and going to lunch with her nurse and library friends.

Eunice was the beloved wife of the late Edward Yakkel; dearest mother of David Yakkel and Christine (Charles) Travarca; dear sister of Donna (deceased) (Frank) Flint; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eunice’s memory to the Lake Humane Society 7564 Tyler Boulevard, Bldg. E, Mentor, OH 44060.
