David J. Lombardo

David J. Lombardo, age 89, born February 24, 1934, passed away at home while held in the loving arms of his family on May 21, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Jeanne (nee Topper). He will be painfully missed by his children, Diana (James) Bruening, David (Patti) Lombardo, Jr., Lisanne Santon (Vince Pavlina) and Nina (James) Mylott; his 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his sister, Mary Jo Boler and his beloved little dog, Taz.

David grew up in Cleveland’s Woodland area and was a proud 1952 graduate of Cathedral Latin High School. He served in the U.S. Airforce as a radio operator during the Korean War. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and scored first in the state on the Ohio Bar Exam. He served as the City of Euclid’s Prosecutor for 27 years and was a brilliant and respected attorney. His quick wit and impeccable timing were legendary both in and out of the courtroom.

David loved spending summers at his cottage in Canada fishing for walleye and musky. He loved to golf, was a passionate supporter of his alma mater, and was rarely without his trademark yellow Cathedral Latin baseball hat. The only thing that rivaled David’s love for Latin was his love for his family. His generosity and love knew no bounds.

The family will receive friends at The Orlando-Donsante-Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, on Tuesday, May 30th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31st at Ss. Robert & William Church 367 East 260th St., Euclid (Please Meet at Church). Celebration luncheon to follow.
