Charles A Sherlock

Mass of Christian Burial for Charles A. Sherlock, age 78, of Wickliffe, will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday January 24th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29840 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Mr. Sherlock passed away January 21, 2018 at his residence with his family at his side. Born January 31, 1939 in Lemont Furnace, PA, and was a Wickliffe resident for over 50 years.

Charles was an Electrician who worked at Reliance Electric, National Acme and retired from Chrysler Twinsburg. A longtime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and the Jednota Association. Charles was an avid fisherman and hunter; he was his grandchildren’s biggest fan who didn’t miss any activities they were involved in.

He was the beloved husband of Lois (nee Sabol); Dearest father of Allen (Lisa) and Diane (John) Hopton; Devoted grandfather of Megan (Matt) Piazza, Rebecca (Matt) Kelbly, Samantha, Sarah and Katelyn Hopton, Daniel and Matthew Sherlock; Dear brother of Theresa Mendis; Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Mary (nee Shuba); brothers Albert and Edward (Cora); sisters Margaret (Michael) German, Agnes (Raymond) Sadlik, Cecelia (Charles) Hurst and brother-in-law John Mendis.

The family will receive friends at The Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, Tuesday 4:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
