Cary S. Cook, age 79, of Mentor, went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Cook was born on October 12, 1942 in East Cleveland, OH.
Cary retired from Willoughby-Eastlake Schools in 2003 after 25 years of service. He was a member of Christian Life Church in Mentor, where his love for the Lord led him to make ornamental crosses, a former professional golfer and author of “Take Diamonds to the Bank.” Cary enjoyed golfing and was an avid pool player.
Cary was the beloved husband of Gail Lastoria Cook (nee Dye); dearest father of Anthony (Cynthia), Dominic, Jeanne and Annette Lastoria; devoted grandfather of ten and great grandfather of eleven; dear uncle of Michelle “Mitch” (Gary) Longstreet, Roy Palermo and many other nieces and nephews; dear brother-in-law of Connie Cook.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford, Clyde (Marge, deceased) and Clarence (Joe, deceased); sister, Rosemary (Jim, deceased) Palermo.
The family will receive friends at The Orlando-Donsante-Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, on Wednesday, October 20th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, October 21st from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. where a Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of the family.
