Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas E. Shaffer, Jr., age 66, of Wickliffe, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Tom passed away April 23, 2026. He was born February 21, 1960 in Cleveland, OH to the late Thomas, Sr. and Edith (nee Conoline).

Tom graduated from Wickliffe High School in 1978 where he was a standout football player, also recognized as the Player of the Week in the News-Herald, named defensive player of the year in 1978 and was a team member of the Lake Co. “Save a Sight” game. He was a union laborer and worked for Formica Plumbing and Vanjo’s Construction for many years.

Tom loved motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson, as well as his dogs and his cockatiel, Charlie.

Tom is survived by his brother, Larry. He was a very kindhearted person who was a friend to everyone he met.

The family will receive friends at THE ORLANDO-DONSANTE-PREVITE FUNERAL HOME 29550 EUCLID AVE., WICKLIFFE, ON THURSDAY, APRIL 30TH FROM 6:00 TO 8:00 P.M. Inurnment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. at a later date.
