Sybil G. Dobransky (nee Bannister), age 99, of Wickliffe, passed away March 1, 2025. Mrs. Dobransky was born January 27, 1926, in New Brunswick, Canada to the late Fletcher and Clara Bannister, and grew up in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick.

Sybil trained to be a registered nurse at Chipman Memorial Hospital in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. She worked in Maine and New York before eventually settling in Cleveland, making lifelong friends along the way. Sybil worked at Polyclinic Hospital and Women's General Hospital in Cleveland and retired from Wickliffe Country Place in 1991.

After retirement, Sybil volunteered with the adult literacy program in Lake Co. and delivered Meals on Wheels with her husband Ed for over 20 years. She enjoyed knitting and donated many hats and mittens over the years, as well as sweaters for children overseas and helmet liners for U.S. troops. Among other interests, Sybil liked to write poetry, bake, travel, and loved to tell good – and bad – jokes. She also enjoyed the arts, as well as hockey and baseball, and was a big Cleveland Guardians fan. Sybil would do anything for anyone, and she never forgot her family and friends. She meant so much to all of us and will be dearly missed.

Sybil was the beloved wife of the late Edward; dearest mother of Elaine; dear sister of the late Lillian Steeves, Cora (MacKinnon) Killam and Clarence Bannister; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a dear friend to many. She loved and was loved by her pets and spent many contented hours with a cat on her lap.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at The Orlando-Donsante-Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. following services.
