Rita D. Kovac (nee Morales), age 64 and a lifelong resident of Wickliffe, OH, passed away unexpectedly August 22, 2022.

Beloved wife of 37 years to Doug Kovac and loving mother to Zachary (Ashley) Kovac, Kourtney Kovac, and Cameron Kovac. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and was a loyal friend and confidant to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary Morales.

Rita worked as a hospital unit coordinator at Euclid Hospital, and more recently in the neonatal intensive care unit of Hillcrest Hospital. She had a compassionate and humorous presence that not only impacted the most vulnerable families served, but also the staff and any she encountered in need. She volunteered throughout the years at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School and Church, often found working Bingo during her children's school years or selling instant Bingo at the annual OLMC Festival. She was also on the Lake Catholic reunion committee (class of 1976) and was an active member of the Mt. Carmel Society.

Rita was gifted with the ability to make others laugh heartily and for her exceptional generosity, not to mention her occasional sassiness. You always knew when she was in the room!

The love of her life was Doug and her three children, who carry on her legacy of service to others. She was an avid supporter of all her children's sporting interests (even into their adulthood), often the parent who did whatever was called for, including transporting students because busses were not available. She also loved casino trips, girls' getaways, and praying the rosary, often on her work breaks, for others in need. She was loved by so many people from every aspect of her life.

Family and friends whose lives were touched by Rita are invited to gather at THE ORLANDO-DONSANTE-PREVITE FUNERAL HOME 29550 EUCLID AVE., WICKLIFFE, MONDAY, AUGUST 29TH from 3:00 TO 8:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Inurnment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita's memory to the Mount Carmel Society of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 1730 Mt. Carmel Dr. Wickliffe, OH 44092, whose mission is to promote the practice of Christian life and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary through prayer (especially the rosary) and to support the Church through creative fundraising projects.
