Phillip L. Simon, age 60, a lifelong resident of Wickliffe, passed away April 22, 2021. He was born March 11, 1961, the son of Rita (nee Ciasullo) and the late Phillip Simon.

Phil was a 1979 graduate of Lake Catholic High School and a member of the school's inaugural baseball team. He played softball for many years, was a member of the Wickliffe Italian-American Club and very active with the bocce ball teams at the club. He enjoyed reading sports biographies, watching every Cleveland Browns and Indians game and was a diehard Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Phil was a gentle soul, loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Phil is survived by his mom, Rita; brothers, Chris (Kelly), Jeff (Cheryl) and sister Susan (Greg) Goth; nephews, Alex, Joe, Phillip and niece Isabelle; aunt, Louise and many dear cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at The Orlando-Donsante-Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (masks required with social distancing and occupancy limits). A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Noel Church 35200 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills. Inurnment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.
