Pauline Mary Lattanzio (nee Renzella), age 105, left us peacefully in her sleep on June 12, 2026. She is now with all the loved ones that passed before her and are watching over all of us.
Pauline was born on February 1, 1921, in Benwood, WV, and moved to Wickliffe in 1953 where she spent the last 73 years of her life. She grew up during the depression, a time unfamiliar to the majority of people today, and which was the foundation of her determination, strength and will. Her father supported 3 families which instilled in Pauline the value of family and the value of taking care of others. To her last day, Pauline would give the shirt off her back and the food off her plate to anyone in need.
Pauline worked throughout her life. She was proud to have been a legal secretary with TRW Inc. from which she retired after 20 years of service. She was a committed mother first, raising 4 children who always were her truest passion and proudest accomplishment.
Her fiery spirit never stopped as she never let anything slow her down. She was a very social person and enjoyed the various activities at the Wickliffe Senior Center – bingo, many bus trips and playing cards – her hobbies and interests were as endless as her energy. She loved to cook and bake almost as much as seeing her family and friends enjoy her cooking and baking.
Pauline was a devout Catholic and active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel since her move to Wickliffe. She was an unstoppable force and a beacon of light who touched the lives of so many, of all ages everywhere she went. She was stubborn and determined but most of all a true inspiration. Her missing presence will always be felt by anyone who was fortunate enough to have spent time with her.
In addition to her parents, Nicola and Filomena Renzella, Pauline was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bonifacio “Ben” Lattanzio; son, Bennett Lattanzio; brothers, Fred Renzella and Nick Renzella, sister, Erma Church; and a grandson.
Pauline is survived by and will be deeply missed by sons, Ronald (Robin) Lattanzio of Myrtle Beach, SC, Gregory (Patti) Lattanzio of Ormond Beach, FL, and daughter, Angela Lattanzio of Wickliffe; sister, Elsie Renzella of Benwood, WV, sister-in-law Patricia Renzella of Glen Dale, WV; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Orlando-Donsante-Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. following the mass.
Donations may be made in Pauline’s memory to the Wickliffe Senior Center 900 Worden Rd., Wickliffe, OH 44092.
