Mildred J. Bertagnolli (nee Godak), aged 97, departed this life peacefully on June 5, 2026. Born on January 14, 1929, in Adrian, Pennsylvania, she was the cherished daughter of the late Teofil and Teofila (nee Konnick) Godak, who was the youngest of ten children.
She enjoyed working at Weight Watchers, where she made many meaningful friendships as well as when she worked at the voting polls for many years. A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for six decades, embracing her faith, she was also an active member of the Rosary Guild.
Mildred found great joy tending her flower garden, where the vibrant tulips mirrored the brightness of her spirit. Among her simple pleasures, she enjoyed taking daily walks with her beloved dog, Peppie. Above all, her heart was fullest when surrounded by her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, whose company she treasured deeply.
She shared 47 years of marriage with her late husband, Joseph, and was a loving mother to Linda (Fred) Burkhart, Barry (Sue), and Dwayne (Cindy) Bertagnolli. As a devoted grandmother, she joyfully watched over Melissa (Aaron) Sexstella, Brian (Bethany) Burkhart, Emily (Matthew) Beal, Lynn, Andrew, Geoffrey (deceased) and Chase (Hannah) Bertagnolli. She was a proud great-grandmother to Jake, Mia, Kylie, Brynn, and Winston. Dear sister-in-law of Shirley Godak. A dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, sisters and their spouses, Joseph (Bertha) Godak, Frances (Ed) Moskowski, John (Helen) Godak , Mary (John) Kosin, Helen (Charles) Zakre, Stanley (Phyllis) Godak, Sophie (Anthony) Dzik, Kay (Joe) Baran and Bernard Godak.
Family and friends will gather to honor her memory at THE ORLANDO-DONSANTE-PREVITE FUNERAL HOME 29550 EUCLID AVE., WICKLIFFE, ON THURSDAY, JUNE 11TH FROM 4:00 TO 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12th, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mildred’s memory to Reserve Care Hospice, P.O. Box 72700, Cleveland, OH 44192.
Mildred J. Bertagnolli’s life was a testament to faith, family, and the quiet joys that nurture the soul—a legacy that will forever grace the hearts of all who knew her.
