Marlene P.
(Dicicco) Daro-Sorz
May 17, 1933 – March 9, 2021
Marlene Daro-Sorz (nee DiCicco), age 87, of Wickliffe, passed away March 9, 2021. She was born on May 17, 1933 in Cleveland, OH to the late Anthony and Ornella "Rolly" (nee Calandra) DiCicco.
Marlene attended Collinwood High School where she met her high school sweetheart the late "Johnny" Sorz. They would later be reunited and lived a long and happy life - with vacation cruises, and many extended weekends with friends.
Marlene will always be remembered for cruising around in her Lincoln to meet her many friends such as the "Skaters", Wednesday Lunch Bunch, The Senior Center, Thursdays at Giuseppe's, cards, and trips to the bowling alley. She loved meeting up with her many relatives, as well as going to see Janet to "do hair." She also spent every Sunday with her family over dinner.
Her life shall forever be cherished and remembered as the keeper of the family history. Marlene was so many things in her life. She was a bartender, dance instructor, school bus driver and made bicycle wheels at Murray Ohio.
Marlene was an advocate for children with special needs and was instrumental with other parents to get the Deepwood Center established. She also was known for entertaining friends - Marlene and John's annual pig roasts were legendary.
Special thanks to Siedman 7th Floor at University Hospital, Breckenridge Village Rehab, Hillcrest Hospital 4th Floor East, Ohio Living Hospice and also Maria Klun who was Marlene's caregiver from Hands of Mercy who was so special to mom and our family.
Marlene leaves behind her legacy as a lifelong caregiver to her daughter, the late Kimmie Daro; son, Nick Daro and his wife Carolyn (nee Wereb); two beautiful grandchildren, Devin and Amanda Daro; many numerous friends and relatives.
