Margaret V.
(Hardman) Peck
August 19, 1922 – November 30, 2023
Margaret Virginia Peck (nee Hardman), age 101, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, November 30, 2023. Margaret was an avid reader, gardener, golfer, crafter and enjoyed serving in her church as a Sunday School teacher and with the women's missionary group. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, often traveling to Arizona for a month to be with her grandson and his family. Her second greatest joy was her great grandchildren (and how she got the name of GG) hosting sleepovers and taking them out to breakfast.
She grew up in Morgantown, WV along with her 13 siblings on a farm where they walked (uphill both ways) to their one room schoolhouse which also served as their community's place of worship. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1939. Though they struggled through the depression, their family farm and God's provision, gave the family a place for love, fun, and food. When Margaret moved to Cleveland during the war, she worked as a gas station attendant where she learned to change tires, fuel up automobiles, and top off oil tanks, basically, Rosey the Riveter. Later, she worked as medical assistant at Huron Hospital, and finally ended up getting a receptionist position for The Bailey Controls Corporation in Wickliffe until she retired. She and her husband, John had one daughter, Carmen Wikoff (nee Peck) who was the apple of their eyes. Margaret remained living in Wickliffe until she could no longer live alone, and in 2019 moved in with her granddaughter Jennifer and her husband John.
She leaves behind her daughter Carmen (William) Wikoff; sister, Mary Stevens (nee Hardman); grandchildren, Jeffery (Christine) Wikoff, Laura (Ken) Shobert (nee Wikoff), Jennifer (John) Loparo (nee Wikoff), great grandchildren, David Wikoff, Joshua Wikoff, Gunnar Shobert, Hannah Wikoff, Mya Loparo, Henry Shobert, Kenny Shobert, and Salvatore Loparo. Great- Great Grandchildren, Olivia, William, Vinny, and Adalynn and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Peck; parents Frank and Anne Hardman (nee Moore); and twelve of her thirteen siblings.
