Surrounded by the love of his family, Joe, born on March 9,1936 in Cardale, Pa., passed away peacefully on April 25, 2017. A longtime resident of Willoughby Hills, Joe shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with his lovely wife, Sandra (Gaggiani).
Joe was happiest sharing in family gatherings with his children Jeffery (Susan), Christine, Gina Benoit, Gregory (Mary), Beth Ann (Scott) Siskind and Jacqueline; his grandchildren, Valerie, Greg, Joseph, Kathryn, Adam, Jeffrey James, Robert, Collin, Rachel and Mckenzie; and his great-grandchildren Owen, Corey and Izabella. Joe is survived by his brother Thomas and his sister Laurette Daniel.
In his retirement, Joe traveled extensively with Sandra and their group of friends who became their second family. Their travels included destinations which were lovely and at times exotic. Their travels included Spain, Italy, Croatia, Hawaii, Bahamas, Caribbean Islands, Nova Scotia, Canada and 45 of the 50 states in the USA.
Joe was a truly gifted; a hardworking renaissance man. Using his skill set in construction and gardening, Joe created a beautiful home and property for his family. His prized possession on the property were his beloved apple trees which he joyfully shared every harvest with family and friends.
He held dear his faith in the Catholic Church and his church family. He proudly served as an usher for mass at St. John of the Cross (formerly known as St Felicitas).
He enjoyed a variety of interest including hunting, gambling, watching his grandchildren's sporting events, supporting the 4H youth at the Geauga County Fair and a member of the Kiwanis. He had been a coach of minor league youth baseball and as an umpire for girls softball when his children participated in sports.
Viewing will be at Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home, 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe on Monday, May 1st from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John of the Cross, 140 Richmond Rd., Richmond Hts., on Tuesday, May 2nd at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
