John H. Gerl, 88, a resident of Willoughby, passed away January 24, 2017. He was born on November 4, 1928 in Cleveland. John served in the United States Marine Corps. in the Korean War. He was employed by Addressograph/Multigraph in the Patents & Trademarks Department and retired after 33 years. John was a member of F. O. Eagles of Willoughby. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth (nee Halgash); sons, John R. Gerl (Kathy Paulenich), Tony (Reem) Cvetko, Barry (Kim) Cvetko, daughter, Linda Hoyt; granddaughters, Kellie (Gregg) Hoyt, Jessica (Jeff) Hoyt, Alexandra Cvetko; niece, June Marini; and nephew, Tom Hodanovac. He was preceded in death by his sister, Emma Hodanovac. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home, 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Graveside service Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
