Jean D. Matteo, age 92, entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Jean was born to Margaret and Kenneth Sweetapple in East Cleveland on March 21, 1925. Jean attended Andrews School for Girls, and after graduation she worked for a time as a secretary. Jean married Frank A. Matteo on May 4, 1946. They resided in South Euclid and partnered together to raise 13 children and operate the Matteo Sales Co. Jean enjoyed many years with her husband at their winter residence in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She lived a short time as a resident of Breckenridge Village. Jean was the proud mother of 13 children, 30 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren! She is survived by her children, Larry (Sandy) Matteo, Barbara Hynds, Kathy (Tom) Supan, Diane (Don, deceased) Stricker, Nancy (David) Giesler, Marilyn Matteo, Patricia Matteo, Mark Matteo, Dan (Linda) Matteo, Steve (Anne) Matteo, Janice Matteo, and Ken Matteo; 30 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, David, in 2009, her husband, Frank, in 2010, and her son-in-law, Don, in 2012. Calling Hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. on Wednesday, May 31, at the Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home, 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. The Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 am. on Thursday, June 1, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Burial will be at Willoughby Memorial Gardens in Willoughby, Contributions, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Rita Matteo Memorial Scholarship.
