Mass of Christian Burial for James F. Laurie, age 94, of Mentor and formerly of Wickliffe, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. John Vianney Church 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor, where the family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass. Mr. Laurie passed away peacefully October 11, 2022. He was born on June 28, 1928 in Youngstown, OH.

James was U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII and was a longtime parishioner of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor. He loved working in his garden where he was very proud to grow his special Italian peppers, loved working on jigsaw puzzles and above all, he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

James was the beloved husband of 70 years to Joann (nee Rich); dearest father of Linda (Tom) Ott, James II (deceased) (Carol) and Vince (Pam); devoted grandfather of John (Kristin) Insana, Greg (Michael Ganaway) Ott, Eric (Hollie) Ott, Kevin (Krissy) Ott, Tom (Carla) Ott, Marie Wooden, Jimmy Laurie III, Amber Sandy, Dominic (Sami Caruso-Taylor) Laurie, Antonio Laurie and great grandfather of Stella, Alex, Thomas, Benjamin, Liam, Blake, Jeffrey, Victoria, Taylor, Alyssa, Ava, Giovanni, Ashley (deceased), Bret and great-great grandfather of Santino, Annie and Silas; dear brother of the late Andrew, Anthony, Frank and Connie.

Inurnment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
