Gloria J. (D'Agostino) Slupek's Obituary

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Gloria Slupek (nee D'Agostino), age 72, who left us unexpectedly on the evening of January 5, 2025.

Gloria was born on May 14th, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Carmela (nee DiPietro) and Leo D'Agostino. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Melanie Melaragno (Mark Kotoch); granddaughter, Jenna Melaragno; and loving partner for more than 30 years, Joe Siciliano.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Known for her compassionate heart, generosity, and unwavering selflessness, Gloria lived her Catholic faith through both words and actions, with a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her love for ministry was only surpassed by her love for her family and friends.

Affectionately regarded as the "Chief of Staff" by her family, she always ensured that everything was in order for those she loved. A true warrior, Gloria overcame cancer three times and faced countless health challenges with incredible strength and resilience. She was regarded as one of the strongest women people knew, who was a trusted, selfless confidant. Gloria was always ready to lend a helping hand and had a genuine desire to make the world a better place. Her ability to make anyone feel welcome was unparalleled and she will be remembered for the impact on everyone she touched.

In some of her final moments, she said, "life is for the living" and "to show love". This powerful reminder encourages us to embrace the present, to find meaning in every moment, and to show kindness and compassion wherever you go. Gloria's heart was as boundless as her love for God and she always had a way of brightening even the dullest day. We will miss her warmth, her wisdom, and her love that always brought people together.
