GARY J. GREBEN, SR., of Wickliffe, OH, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Cleveland, OH on September 17, 1937, Gary grew up in the area and was a proud 1955 graduate of Collinwood High School. Valuing education, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio University and later obtained his MBA from Case Western Reserve University. 

Gary had a successful career at CEI/First Energy, retiring in 1992 as Vice President of Industrial Services. Gary enjoyed following all of Cleveland’s major sports teams with a special affinity for his beloved “Indians” as he still called them. He was known to use his sports gaming app to place the occasional wager, never betting against a hometown team. For many years he was an avid golfer, taking occasional “buddy trips” to play including multiple journeys to Scotland. 

He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (nee Coladangelo); loving father of Gary J. Greben, Jr. (Adrienne) and Gregory J. Greben, Sr. (Jeannie); Cherished grandfather of Samantha Bennett (Kyle), Gregory Greben, Jr. (Katrina), Matthew Greben (GF Nicole Bednarik), Joshua Greben (GF Juliet Denton), Gianna Greben and Julia Greben (BF Ryan Groene) and proud great-grandfather of Brooks Bennett, Bodie Bennett and Isabella Greben. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard and parents, Louis and Josephine. Gary will be deeply missed by a large circle of extended family, neighbors and lifelong friends. 

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at THE ORLANDO-DONSANTE-PREVITE FUNERAL HOME 29550 EUCLID AVE., WICKLIFFE, FROM 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe (FAMILY AND FRIENDS PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Inurnment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp. following the mass.
