Ernest Treichel, of Port Charlotte, FL and formerly of Lake County, OH, passed away November 22, 2018 at age 95. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Orlando-Donsante Funeral Home at 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, with services to follow. Entombment will be in Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Hts.

Ernie was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran in the Tank Destroyer Division 656. He was also a member of Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, the Lake County Civil Defense and American Legion Brewer Tarasco Post 7 where he was a past commander.

Ernie was the dearest father of Elaine Hageman, Linda (Bill) Zimmerman and Emily Murphy; devoted grandfather of Robin, Robert, Richard, Jessica, Emma, Alex and great grandfather of Ben, Dave and Leah.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lydia (nee Schmidt); daughter Elaine; siblings Ted, Emma, Otto and Adolf.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ernie's memory to the American Legion Brewer Tarasco Post 7, 29919 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, OH 44092.
