David Richard
Bubonics
September 5, 1945 – August 23, 2021
David Richard Bubonics, age 75 (aka: Papa Boo, Davey, Dad, Mr. B and Sgt. Plague), passed away peacefully at his home on August 23, 2021. He is survived by the love of his life, Ronnie (Mary Veronica Buvalich); daughter, Tracy Salvia (John); granddaughters, Amanda and Concetta; siblings, Mary Lou, Kenny (Pat), Elaine, and sister-in-law, Suzy; many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and even great-great nieces and nephews. Also, a terrific group of childhood friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary; brothers, Alfred, John, Mikey, and Jimmy.
David graduated from Euclid High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served four years in the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, finishing his last twelve months as a sergeant in Vietnam. He worked at Fisher Body on Coit Rd. and then became the best darn mail carrier in Wickliffe for 20 years before landing his dream retirement job at Green Ridge Golf Course.
David loved to travel with Ronnie. They visited all 50 states, parts of Europe, the Caribbean, and countless National Parks. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. He showed his love for his family by keeping an active role in their lives. He was a coach, playmate and best buddy to his daughter and his granddaughters. He enjoyed hunting with his favorite son-in-law (John), and he kept fit by walking his grand-dog, Fredo.
Thank you to the VA of Cleveland and Hospice of the Western Reserve for your dedication, services, and support.
