Carol E.
(Kramer) Skiles
January 25, 1929 – March 16, 2026
Carol E. Skiles (nee Kramer), 97, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, on her 58th wedding anniversary, surrounded by her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength and unwavering kindness. Born in 1929, she lived nearly a century with a deep faith and a grace that touched everyone who knew her.
Carol was never one to seek the spotlight; instead, she was the steady presence her family could always rely on. She moved through life with a gentle way, offering a soft word or a kind smile exactly when it was needed most. Her 97 years were not just a measure of time, but a testament to a life lived with patience, resilience, and a deep, quiet love for those around her.
She found joy in the simple, steady rhythms of life—swimming, her morning coffee, reading, puzzles, Netflix, and traveling with her husband. Her family will forever remember her as the "calm in the storm," a woman whose consistency was the foundation of their home.
She graduated from Collinwood High School in January, 1947 and was a lifetime member of the Cleveland Chapter of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Carlus; children, Terry Ann (Constantino) Phillips, Carol Magyarics (Paul), Carlus Skiles (Crissy) and Christine Skiles (Amy Danner), who carry her gentle spirit forward; grandchildren, Scott Phillips, Connor Skiles, Danny and Emma Magyarics; her great-grandchildren, Logan, Brennan and Mea; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Wallace-Cordon-Andersen, Bill (Louise) and Jack (Marion); her son-in-law Dave Phillips, and grandchildren, Caitlin Skiles & David Phillips.
In her memory, the family asks that you perform a small act of kindness for someone else—just as she did every day of her life.
