Robert F Tanski

Robert Frank Tanski, age 85, of Naples, FL and formerly of Wickliffe, passed away on February 23, 2018 in Naples, FL and was born on October 31, 1932 in Cleveland, OH.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 7th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29840 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe.

Mr. Tanski was a U.S. Navy veteran who was a member of the American Legion Post 678 in Willowick and the VFW Post 2595 in Painesville. He was also a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Wickliffe.

Robert enjoyed playing golf and was an avid woodworker/craftsman. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and supporting his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Mr. Tanksi was a longtime employee of Cleveland Cement up until his retirement in 1992.

Robert is survived by his sons Douglas (Corrine), Jeff (Beth), Chris (Linda) and his daughter Cathleen (Mark) Lombardo; he was the devoted grandfather of Robert, Bart, Erica, Taylor, Rachel, Caitlin, Hanna, Jake and a great grandfather of five; his brother Stan (Joanne), sister Judy (Bob) Gallagher and sister-in-law Barbara.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ann (nee Leimgruber) who was his one and only true love; parents Stanley and Mary (nee Tadaj); brothers Donald and his wife Bea and Richard.

Inurnment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township at a later date.
