Julia Jane “Judy” Brinkman (nee Davis), age 86, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Briarcliff Manor in Middlefield, OH. She was born on April 17, 1932 in Helen Furnace, PA to Charles Patterson and Elsie Mae (nee Bush) Davis.
Julia Jane grew up in Helen Furnace and Clarion, PA and graduated from Clarion High School in 1950. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Hamilton, OH, where she met and married John Russell “Russ” Brinkman on May 28, 1954. The couple moved to Miamisburg, OH and then were long-time residents of Washington Township, OH.
Judy was a devoted member of the Trinity United Church of Christ and then Normandy United Methodist Church congregations, holding various committee positions at each church. She was a vigorous volunteer with the Normandy United Methodist Women’s Group. She also volunteered for the Centerville City Schools and Cox Arboretum, and was a dedicated and long-time supporter of the Centerville Rotary Club as a Rotary Ann. Her hobbies included sewing, crafting, and the Normandy Church Bazaar.
She was the dearest mother of Diane Ruth (Dale) Kirby of Casselberry, FL and David Russell (Dr. Angela) Brinkman of Chardon, OH; devoted grandmother of Melissa Jane Fletcher of Tallahassee, FL and Anthony John Brinkman of Chardon, OH and great grandmother of Dean Henry Fletcher of Tallahassee, FL; beloved sister-in-law of Marilyn (Paul) Poe; dear Aunt of Paul and Jason Poe and great aunt of Jack Poe.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Russ Brinkman, and her parents Charles and Elsie Davis.
The family will receive friends at the Memorial Mausoleum Chapel located on the cemetery grounds of David's Cemetery, 4600 Mad River Rd., Kettering, on Saturday February 2 at 1:00 p.m. and Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel.
