Elizabeth M. (Kovalcin) Whites

Elizabeth M. Whites (nee Kovalcin), age 89, of Wickliffe, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024 after a brief illness.

She was born September 26, 1934 in Hastings, PA to Michael and Mary Kovalcin.

Liz was a hairdresser for 38 years before retiring in 1997. She was one of the founding parishioners of Holy Resurrection Byzantine Catholic Church (formerly St. Stephen’s) where she attended for 69 years. Liz was president of both the Choir and the Ladies Guild. She also participated in the St. Stephen’s mixed bowling league and the GCU (Greek Catholic Union) bowling tournaments.

Liz enjoyed trips to Las Vegas to play the slot machines and spending time with her beloved family in Pennsylvania on weekend get-aways. She was also an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians/Guardians.

Liz was the loving mother to her son, Frank (Deborah) Whites and daughter, Jennifer (Richard) Wojtasik; devoted grandmother of six and great grandmother twelve.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Frank Whites, Sr.; parents, Michael and Mary (nee Prestash) Kovalcin; sister, Mary Chigas and brothers, Michael Kovalcin and Pete Kovalcin.

The family will receive friends at THE ORLANDO-DONSANTE-PREVITE FUNERAL HOME 29550 EUCLID AVE., WICKLIFFE, SUNDAY, APRIL 14TH FROM 3:00 TO 6:00 PM, PARASTAS 5:30 PM.

A Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Holy Resurrection Byzantine Catholic Church, 532 Lloyd Rd., Euclid. Burial will be in Willoughby Memorial Gardens following the liturgy.
